Suck.

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Suck.com, how I miss you. It’s been many years since I last read you, but I knew you had to still be out there. Sure enough, you are. On the other hand you aren’t. You went fishing in 2001 and never came back. Did the Loch Ness monster eat you? Perhaps Lycos drove the final nail. Either way, I miss your clever quips. Your insightful yet patronizing tone. Your bad attitude. Thankfully, I still have the archive to refer to. Thank you for that.

To the rest of you, it’s all your fault. So says the image.

It's all your fault.

It’s 2010, HAL Has a Message

Friday, January 1st, 2010

HAL was reprogrammed by the sentient monolith to broadcast a message to earth in 2010 and I want to share with with you now.

ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS EXCEPT EUROPA. ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE. USE THEM TOGETHER. USE THEM IN PEACE.

Happy new year.

Hell Yeah, Nosferatu!

Monday, December 14th, 2009

This silent German impressionist film is probably one of the most talked about horror films I have ever encountered. It introduces a vampire with a horrible visage and a love story all in the same breath. It’s black and white. It’s from 1922. It’s awesome.

Watch the whole damn movie!

Night of the Living Dead: The Streaming

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I love horror flicks. I really do. I was talking to a friend about some really interesting plot turns and, of course, Night of the Living Dead came right to mind. The whole plot centers around five people, in a house who can’t get along. I won’t tell you the end, but it is one that will bug you, no doubt. So I suggested my friend watch the movie. Then it occurred to me, someone must have posted it on YouTube. Success! For your viewing pleasure, I offer Night of the Living Dead in its entirety:

If this video fails for some reason, there is a second location.

Dancing – This is Awesome?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I’m not entirely sure what to thing at the moment. On the one hand, this is amazing. This takes time, skill and patience like I may have never known. On the other hand, it’s really disconcerting to see someone with withered legs that can dance better than I ever could have on my best day. You be the judge.

Santa, No!

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

My favorite holiday is Halloween. That’s just the way it is. As soon as that magical night ends, it’s a mad dash by all the retailers to get everything from Halloween liquidated and move all of the Christmas crap, kitsch and what-have-you out on the sales floor. By the end of the year, I find myself fantasizing about purchasing a gun and shooting anything that plays a Christmas carol. Dancing Santas would be laid waste lawn reindeer would be small chunks strewn about after the beating I administered with my baseball bat. I’m not a Christmas person.

When I saw this, thanks to my Twitter feed, I knew I found a kindred spirit. Okay, I HOPED I found a kindred spirit. Who knows, maybe they’re really bugged by all this, but suspicion tells me otherwise. Santa, NO!
